Thinking of a Labiaplasty?
Make sure you visit a Specialist Gynaecologist.

What is a Labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is a procedure to remove or trim the external genitalia. It usually refers to the labia minora.
Labiaplasty is performed for many reasons, ranging from assymetry, friction, infections, lesions, pain, post-delivery enlargement, sexual discomfort or cosmetic preference.
It is important to note that there is a variation in the appearance of normal female genitalia, and there can be normal physiological changes over time. There is no evidence that this procedure improves body image or self-confidence.
The gynaecologist will discuss the procedure with you in detail so that you can decide whether it is right for you.

Arranging a Consultation
You will need to see our specialist gynaecologist before a labiaplasty procedure can be booked.
During the first consultation, the gynaecologist will examine you with a camera and a monitor screen.
This enables you to see what your labial folds look like, understand the planning required, and the extent of the labiaplasty reshaping process.
The consultation is free, but a GP referral is required (under new AHPRA rules from July 2023).

The Procedure
The gynaecologist performs labiaplasty with numbing cream and local labial nerve blocks in our dedicated procedure room.
Being awake, you are able to see the progress and shaping of your labial sculpture. With your feedback, adjustments to the final shape can be made during the procedure.
The procedure will take 1-2 hours.

Treatment Outcomes
Treatment outcomes may differ based on your individual characteristics. While some patients will experience benefits from the procedure, success cannot be guaranteed. There is no evidence that this procedure improves body image or self-confidence.
It is important to note that there is a variation in the appearance of normal female genitalia, and there can be normal physiological changes over time. While the effects of a labiaplasty cannot be reversed surgically, the body will continue to undergo normal changes with age (especially after childbirth or menopause).
